Independence Health System
Independence Health System is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible General Thoracic Surgeon to join a respected, well-established multidisciplinary team that includes two thoracic surgeons, three cardiothoracic surgeons, and six advanced practice providers. This position is primarily based at Butler Hospital, with opportunities to provide care at other system locations. Occasional travel to offsite clinics is required. Candidates must hold, or be eligible to obtain, an unrestricted Pennsylvania medical license. Ideally, we are seeking an early- to mid-career surgeon with experience in minimally invasive and robotic techniques. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical skills in the full spectrum of general thoracic surgery, including management of malignant and benign diseases of the lungs, esophagus, mediastinum, and chest wall. Experience with robotic navigational bronchoscopy, EBUS, robotic and open lung procedures, and esophageal surgery is preferred. The role includes participation in our established Advanced Lung Center/Lung Nodule and cancer clinic. Candidates should have an interest in quality improvement initiatives and a commitment to collaborative, multidisciplinary care. Strong leadership, communication skills, and engagement in program development, departmental activities, and shared call coverage are essential.
