- Epilepsy Advanced Practice Provider
Description
Penn Medicine is a national leader in the diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy and seizure disorders and has been designated by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC) as a Level IV Comprehensive Epilepsy Center. We offer state-of-the-art facilities, innovative treatment, and the highest level of expertise for the most complex cases.
As our team continues to grow, we are looking for a nurse practitioner or physician assistant to join our multidisciplinary team as an outpatient provider. The APP will work autonomously to provide care to a diverse patient population, with the support and mentorship of a close-knit team of experienced APPs and epileptologists.
Clinical responsibilities include education and counseling visits for patients with new onset seizures, follow-up visits for established epilepsy patients, antiseizure medication management, counseling and education regarding surgical treatment options for epilepsy, management of neuromodulation devices, ordering appropriate diagnostic tests and interpretation of results.
Neurology Experience preferred
Primary Location: Philadelphia, PA
Hours: Daytime Monday – Friday, no nights, no weekends, no call.
Requirements
Master’s prepared Nurse Practitioner OR Master’s prepared Physician Assistant
Current Pennsylvania license (or eligible to obtain)
Candidates should possess strong communication skills and the ability to work independently with a wide variety of medical and surgical services
