Description
The Division of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine (UPSOM)/University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) is seeking a dedicated, collaborative rheumatologist with superb clinical acumen to join our faculty. This position will provide dedicated, specialized, interdisciplinary care to patients with Sjögren's Disease and Systemic Sclerosis through the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC’s Scleroderma Center and Sjogren’s Disease program. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in supporting clinical research, including clinical trials, to advance both patient care and research in these diseases. Experience in musculoskeletal and/or salivary gland ultrasound would be a highly advantageous asset, though training can be provided.
Must have an MD or equivalent,
Be board certified in Internal Medicine and be BC/BE in Rheumatology with the ability to obtain an unrestricted PA license.
Must have completed an accredited fellowship in Rheumatology.

Opportunity Details

Cover dedicated disease clinics in both scleroderma and Sjogren’s disease.
Support observational cohort studies
Participate and lead clinical trials in both scleroderma and Sjogren’s disease.
Six half-day clinics per week. This may include some general rheumatology
Inpatient coverage is required, but no more than 6 weeks.
Provide quality rheumatology instruction, training, and mentorship in the inpatient/outpatient settings to medical students, residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals
Interact with their academic and basic science colleagues in the Division of Rheumatology and the Department of Medicine as part of their employment; this includes but is not limited to attending division and departmental faculty meetings, serving on committees, working to solve /address quality concerns, and attending grand rounds
