Azura Vascular Care proudly offers a long-standing and highly respected Interventional Nephrology Fellowship program. Originally founded as American Access Care, later operating as Fresenius Vascular Care, and now under the Azura name, this program reflects our enduring commitment to clinical excellence and innovation in vascular care.
Designed for driven and compassionate nephrologists, the fellowship provides a unique opportunity to advance professional development while significantly improving outcomes for dialysis patients. It is ideal for physicians seeking to expand their expertise in a dynamic and impactful subspecialty.
Requirements
The fellowship is currently offered at our vascular centers in Brooklyn and Manhattan, NY, with expansion of program this year to Los Angeles, CA, St. Louis, MO, San Antonio, TX, Baltimore, MD, Philadelphia, PA and Cincinnati, OH. The program includes:
One year of intensive didactic and hands-on training, covering:
Normal and Variant Anatomy of Vascular Access
Imaging and Radiation Safety
Sedation and Analgesia
Two subsequent years of clinical practice, including a proctored component to ensure comprehensive skill development and confidence in outpatient interventional procedures.
This structured, multi-year approach has proven to be a vital pipeline for developing highly skilled interventional nephrologists who support Azura Vascular Care’s continued growth and commitment to excellence.
Candidate Profile
This fellowship is tailored for nephrologists with a strong interest in becoming Interventional Nephrologists. Most participants begin the program with limited or no prior experience in outpatient interventional vascular procedures, making it an ideal entry point into the field.
