Paid Internship with Progressive Political Media Firm
A|L Media’s award-winning team offers an internship for aspiring political professionals who want to jumpstart their careers with real-world political experience or who want to apply their hard skills toward advancing progressive politics. A|L interns assist with work across the firm, such as copywriting, research, competitive ad tracking, and coordinating production logistics. The best candidates for our internship program are individuals who are excited to work in a fast-paced environment, are detail-oriented, and have strong written and verbal communication skills.
The 2027 A|L internship cycle begins January 11, 2027 and concludes on December 10, 2027; candidates are expected to commit to the year-long program. This is a remote position, and applicants must be able to work 12-20 hours/week. Interns receive a compensation of $19/hour.

Internship Opportunities
A|L Media offers internships in two departments: the Accounts Department and the Production Department. See below for detailed information on each type of internship. Applicants are encouraged to apply for internships in one or both departments.
Accounts Department Internship
Our Account Interns support Account Leads in servicing the needs of a variety of clients nationwide. This position is best suited for applicants interested in media planning, campaign consulting, and/or political communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble reports on media affairs to assist senior staff with campaign strategy, messaging, and research
- Track political ad spending across key electoral races
- Draft communication materials such as ad copy, Q&A for media prep, and talking points
- Contribute to creative concepts and scripting for television, radio, and digital advertising
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or have obtained a degree in Political Science, Communications, History, Journalism, or a related field
- Have an interest in political strategy and communications
- Work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for electing Democratic leaders
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as superb organizational abilities
- Have experience with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
Production Department Internship
This role is ideal for someone organized, proactive, and eager to gain hands-on experience across every step of the pre-production, on-set production, and post-production process. You will work closely with producers, editors, and strategists to keep projects moving, gather assets. assist with shoots, and support our fast-paced media operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support producers during pre-production with research, asset collection, and building pitch or mood boards
- Assist in coordinating logistics for shoots, including drafting call sheets, sourcing locations, and booking crew
- Reconcile production budgets, clear licensing materials (music/stock footage), and process crew invoices
- Handle day-to-day administrative tasks to keep the production pipeline flowing smoothly
- Serve as a Production Assistant (PA) on set (virtually or in-person), assisting with gear prep, managing talent releases, and providing general crew support
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently obtained a degree in film, media production, communications, politics, or similar subjects
- 1+ year(s) of foundational experience in video production or media (including student films and previous internships)
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with a knack for keeping track of moving pieces
- Superb communication with strong attention to detail, especially when handling production paperwork
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Familiarity with standard production and post-production workflows
- Experience with production management tools (Monday.com, Google Drive, and timecard/wrap software) is a bonus
- Interest in progressive politics and campaign media is strongly preferred
