These programs stand out for one key reason … we hire the BEST staff!
And we pay the BEST salaries to recruit that staff!!
Nothing is more important than our staff members, and we know this all too well. If you are a hard-working individual who enjoys working with children, you may just be the person we're looking for. Staff members must be able to put the kids first at all times. It’s equally essential that staff members be strong role models for our campers. As we're working with kids, we have strict policies in many areas including; alcohol, smoking, vaping, nightly curfew, etc. Many program areas require specialized skills and certifications in order to operate safely, and for this reason, applicants with relevant skills/certifications may be prioritized (though we provide our own training during staff orientation as well).
400+ SUMMER CAMP JOBS AVAILABLE!
We have over 400 jobs within camp that are under constant evaluation with respect to staff. Some jobs are highly skilled positions (Waterfront Director, Gymnastics Coach, Athletic Director, Spy Camp Instructor, etc.), others require significant child care experience (General Cabin Counselor, Division Director, Nurses), and even then there are jobs where you will receive all of the necessary training at camp, (Attendance Supervisor, Administrative Assistant, etc.) If you are compassionate, hard-working, and an excellent role model, we have a job for you! Our employment application is available here.
Camp Lohikan shares staff applications with Camp Cayuga and Lake Greeley Camp, our two sister camps. When you apply to one, you are considered by all! The three camps are coed resident camps located in northeast Pennsylvania and have been operated by the Buynak family since 1957. Working at camp is the experience of a lifetime. The personal growth, the rewards of working with children, the excitement of an active and diverse community, and the close friendships that you form will stay with you long after the summer ends. Working at camp will make you a better person, and you'll take that with you wherever you go! Many staff members describe their employment at Camp Lohikan as the BEST summer of their life. We’re confident that you will also! Click here to read what other staff members have said about working at Lohikan.
