Responsibilities
The Production Manager role is a key part of the Murrysville Leadership Team and will directly contribute to and impact the success of the plant.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leadership, Staffing, and Development Lead the Assembly Factory organization, continuously improving core competencies, executing a flexible workforce, and developing programs to achieve organizational objectives. Collaboratively set objectives for supervisors and group leaders, monitor progress, and provide coaching and support to achieve desired results. Develop and maintain motivational relationships with the hourly associates and individuals at all organizational levels.
- EHS Lead with a "safety first" mindset. Collaboratively partner with associates to define and implement safe practices and encourage safe behaviors. Engage associates to participate in proactive safety and ergonomic programs including near hits, OSHA's Voluntary Protection Program, and Behavior Based Safety. Ensure systems and procedures are in place to meet OSHA and other regulatory compliance.
- Quality Ensure products are produced in accordance with design requirements, production processes adhere to the MSA Quality Management System and regulatory agencies, and customer issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Inventory Control Ensure that inventory is controlled and maintained at greater than or equal to 95% accurate at all times
- Delivery Performance Establish production processes that exceed market expectations. Actively participate in the Sales Inventory Operations Planning (SIOP) process in addition to collaborating with the plant scheduling team.
- Continuous Improvement / Product Cost Reduction Drive continuous improvement activities. Shorten and simplify supply chain, increase productivity, eliminate waste, and increase equipment efficiency.
- New Products collaborate with NPD teams to introduce new products into serial production, on schedule and within budget.
- Financial Performance Develop and drive performance to the annual budget. Manage and report on Assembly Factory performance for customer service, product / process quality, safety, employee relations, and other regulatory financial compliance as needed. Apply business analytics and financial analysis to drive decisions and sustainable problem solving.
- Capital Equipment Identify short and long term needs for capital equipment for the Assembly Factory.
- Develop strong working relationships with other key company functions (Engineering, Marketing, Sales, etc.).

Requirements:

- Demonstrated success in the development of individuals' skills and abilities so they can fulfill current and/or future job responsibilities.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve stated goals and build strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
- Familiarity with multiple CI disciplines such as Lean / Six Sigma principles.
- Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset.
Education and experience required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or related technical field required.
This position is available at three different career levels depending on experience, education, etc.: - Level I: Three or more years of production supervision or project management experience required, plus four years of production or related experience; Masters, advanced degree, or relevant military experience may be substituted for up to two years of supervisory and/or work experience
- Level II: Four or more years of production supervision or project management experience required, plus five years of production or related experience; Masters, advanced degree, or relevant military experience may be substituted for up to two years of supervisory and/or work experience
- Level III: Five or more years of production supervision or project management experience required, plus five years of production or related experience; Masters, advanced degree, or relevant military experience may be substituted for up to two years of supervisory and/or work experience
- Master's Degree preferred
Education and Experience Preferred:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field required.
- 7+ years of manufacturing experience required along with 3+ years of people leadership
- Master's Degree preferred
