Overview

The Philadelphia Cricket Club has an opening for a multi-talented golf professional starting as early as February 1 st , 2026. This is considered a year-round position and is structured so the selected candidate does not have to move between seasonal jobs.

The candidate chosen will be involved in every area of the golf operation and will enjoy comprehensive education and training in all facets of golf facility management. We are seeking a professional who is ready to be the Head Professional at The Philadelphia Cricket Club in the next year or two, then move to their own position. The staff is led by PGA Director of Golf/COO Jim Smith Jr., the 2024 PGA of America Bill Strausbaugh Award recipient. Jim and PCC are extremely employee-centric and strongly believe in the Richard Branson school of management.... happy employees = happy members & guests!

The successful candidate will work approximately 40-45 hrs./week (4-day workweek with a set schedule). In addition to exposure in all areas of the golf operation, the candidate will be expected to play golf with members; participate in tournaments (both individual & pro-ams); be available to help teach private lessons and clinics; and more. Teaching opportunities will be limited as The Philadelphia Cricket Club currently employs multiple (6) highly regarded PGA teaching professionals (2 past Philadelphia Section Teachers of the Year) who give the bulk of lessons at the club. The candidate will also work 10-15 Monday outings and be paid additionally and very well for those events. The selected professional will have a multitude of responsibilities related to tournament operations, merchandising, strategy, and Committee engagement.

The successful candidate should be a PGA member in good standing; have a minimum of 3 years' experience working full-time as a PGA golf professional (not counting internships); ideally have experience working at a high-end, high-activity facility; exhibit a 'Just Do It' attitude and be willing to do whatever it takes to contribute to the success of the facility; have a caring and friendly demeanor and be willing to exceed member expectations with regard to service and commitment; have proven interpersonal, operational, and playing skills; and, most importantly, be a self-motivated individual who is highly personable and is willing to do what it takes to earn their own head professional position.

Benefits for the position include salary; significant contribution towards health insurance premiums; 100% of individual lesson income; 95% of clinic income; bonus on profitability of the golf shop; full access to both golf courses and all practice facilities; clothing allowance; significant expense allowance for tournament, dues, education, etc.; golf shop bonuses; holiday gratuities; and more. Th value of the position is estimated at $5000-$7000/month.
