SALARY:
$84,590 - $99,517 annually
SUMMARY:
This position involves highly professional work in the determination of support cases in the Adult Section of the Family Division of the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas. Assignments generally follow routine procedures, although general direction is given by the Chief Hearing Officer, Administrators and/or Judges. Assignments are reviewed upon completion.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
§ Degree from an accredited school of law.
§ Minimum of five years of legal experience. Family law experience is preferred.
§ Extensive knowledge of general litigation practices.
§ Extensive knowledge of the appropriate laws and rules of procedure.
§ Experience and working knowledge of office equipment, including Microsoft Windows based environment, and word processing skills, inclusive of Outlook. PACSES experience is preferred.
§ Must have the ability to understand and calculate mathematical formulas for support purposes.
§ Exceptional communicator both written and verbal.
License Requirements
§ Admittance to the Pennsylvania Bar.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct hearings in a professional manner; receive evidence, hear arguments and file with the Court.
Utilize numerous PACSES computer screens.
Conduct conferences using Microsoft TEAMS conference calling and/or video conferencing features.
Attend trainings, meetings and/or conference calls.
Access CIS, JNET, Court Intranet, and other computer systems sanctioned by the court.
Prepare typed summaries for cases referred to the contempt judge.
Follow all relevant cases, rules, and court policies in entering decisions.
Prepare pre-trial orders for complex cases.
Submit appropriate cases to judges for issuance of bench warrants and generate 6A release forms.
Address walk-in clients as needed.
