The PA Primary Care Career Center was founded to match up primary care providers (physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, dentists, and more) with organizations that provide primary care services. We connect candidates to the most compatible opportunities and communities in which to live and work.
Ambulatory Health Services provide a full range of primary medical and support services to registered patients. The health centers accept urgent care (walk-in) patients but require appointments for certain services.
Role Overview
Diagnoses medical conditions of children and adults; manages and applies principles of preventive and therapeutic medicine for patients with acute and chronic medical conditions utilizing principles from internal medicine, pediatrics, surgery, obstetrics, gynecology, community medicine, gerontology, psychiatry and related behavioral sciences; develops treatment plans and behavior modification plans for health maintenance activities; may perform sigmoidoscopic examinations in the Sigmoidoscopy Clinic upon completion of specialized training and certification by department.

- Principles, practices and current developments of the appropriate medical specialty.
- Principles, practices and current developments of general medicine and surgery.
- Principles and practices of preventive medicine, as they apply to the appropriate medical specialty.
- Medical jurisprudence
Ability to:
- Work coordinately with other professional groups and individuals in the control of disease.
- Examine patients, diagnose diseases, and prescribe and administer treatment in the field of specialization.
- Establish and maintain effective work relationships with associates and patients.
- Supervise the work of extended care providers engaged in examining and treating patients.
What We’re Looking For
- Graduation from an accredited school of medicine or osteopathy with a degree of Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy and completion of an internship in an approved hospital.
- Completion of all current formal requirements necessary to be accepted for the initial examinations for certification by the appropriate American Medical or Osteopathic Specialty Board.
- Ability to physically perform the duties and to work in the environmental conditions required of a position in this class.
- Possession of a valid unrestricted license to practice medicine or osteopathy in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania issued by the appropriate state board prior to and during tenure of appointment as a Clinician.
- Eligibility for hospital admitting privileges in the appropriate specialty department, and possession of hospital admitting privileges within one year of the date of appointment and during tenure of employment.
- Eligibility for an unrestricted Controlled Substances Registration Certification from the United States Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration, and possession of such certification within six months of the date of appointment and during tenure of employment.
Position Type and Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, or as assigned.
