Job Summary
Manages building operations and maintenance and monitors provided services to ensure compliance with schedule, budget, and standards. Coordinates all internal and external contractors, workers, and vendors. Designs a suggestion and complaints system and ensures resolution. Schedules shutdowns and coordinates emergency response efforts.
Essential Functions
The Facility Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the operational excellence of university research facilities. Reporting to the Senior Facility Manager, this position is responsible for coordinating comprehensive facilities management services, maintaining effective communication with building representatives and occupants, and ensuring all services are delivered professionally, consistently, and in alignment with the Facilities Management Division's strategic objectives.
Oversee day-to-day building operations and maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with established schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
• Coordinate and supervise internal and external contractors, maintenance personnel, and service vendors
• Serve as primary liaison between Facilities Management and building occupants, responding to inquiries and service requests promptly
• Develop and implement systems for tracking facility issues, user feedback, and service complaints, ensuring timely resolution
• Plan and coordinate facility shutdowns for maintenance, repairs, and improvements with minimal disruption to operations
• Lead emergency response coordination efforts and serve as point of contact during facility-related emergencies
