Executive Director of Lauri Ann West Community Center
The Lauri Ann West Community Center, located in O’Hara Township, PA, is hiring an Executive Director. The Executive Director is a member of the senior leadership team and provides leadership and strategic direction for the entire organization. Responsibilities for the position include (i) supporting the Board of Directors in the implementation of the center’s strategic goals; (ii) assisting the Board with policy development while implementing the directives of the Board; and (iii) providing leadership and operational management for all programs, membership, fundraising, facilities management, financial management, and the development of all personnel. The Executive Director is responsible for advancing the mission, visibility, and long-term sustainability of the community center.
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree. A Master’s degree is a plus. The successful candidate will have progressively responsible experience in nonprofit management. This position requires a customer-focused mentality, with the ability to build relationships and successfully engage with all levels and types of members. LAWCC is searching for a demonstrated leader who has the ability to be innovative in programming, staff management, and finance. Strong interpersonal skills are required. Clearances will be required.
The salary range at the time of posting is $120,000 - $150,000 annually, based upon a full-time work schedule. Actual compensation will be influenced by various factors, including but not limited to employee qualifications, relevant experience, skill sets, training, and market data. This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. The Lauri Ann West Community Center is an independent, non-profit organization in the heart of O’Hara Township serving the Fox Chapel Area School District and surrounding communities. Our mission is to build connections, expand horizons, and impact lives by providing a safe place for all to learn, play, and grow. Celebrating its 10-year anniversary in 2026, Lauri Ann West Community Center is a fiscally strong, vibrant community center, averaging almost 500 visits per day. We offer over 60 fitness classes per week, plus a fitness center and 14 personal trainers. Our Arts & Enrichment after-school program serves almost 100 children, and its 9-week summer camp offers about 600 opportunities to participate for children, starting at PreK. In addition, Lauri Ann West Community Center delivers a comprehensive range of wellness, education, and community programming activities, including pickleball, youth and older adult programs, a speaker series, and more.

Position Summary
The Executive Director (“Director”) is a member of the senior leadership team and provides leadership and strategic direction for the entire organization. Responsibilities include supporting the Board of Directors (“Board”) with the implementation of the center’s strategic plan; assisting the Board with policy development while implementing the directives of the Board; providing leadership and operational management for all programming, membership, fundraising, facilities management, financial management, and the development of all personnel. In addition, the Director is responsible for advancing the mission, visibility, and long-term sustainability of the community center.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategic Planning
- Manage all areas of LAWCC including, but not limited to, membership; facilities, technology and safety; fitness center, personal training, and exercise classes; and adult, family, and children programing.
- Ensure the effective implementation of all Board policies and translate the overall mission and vision into operational plans and programs.
- Develop and recommend to the Board long-range strategic plans for achieving the mission and goals of LAWCC.
- Provide timely and complete reports to the Board, ensuring that the Board is informed of organizational activities.
- Provide collaborative leadership for development and fundraising by engaging the Board, donors, and community partners in advancing LAWCC’s mission and longterm sustainability
Operations Management
- Allocate human resources and financial resources to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of services in response to member needs.
- Plan and deliver programs and activities that engage our community, grow the membership base and meet the needs of the membership.
- Develop and implement efficient operating and administrative processes to enhance operational efficiency, including technology solutions.
Financial Management
- Develop and actively, with Director of Communications and Development, manage annual appeals and capital campaign(s).
- Assure the integrity of the financial operations of LAWCC.
- Develop, recommend, and administer an annual operating budget and 5-year capital budget.
- Oversee the development and implementation of a sustainable long-term and annual donor engagement and stewardship strategy.
- Manage the acquisition of applicable grants and alternative funding sources.
Board and Community Engagement
- Serve as an ex-officio member of the Board and its standing committees with the goal of having successful leadership development and succession planning.
- Ensure that the Board and its standing committees are prepared for each Board meeting.
- Advise the Board, in a timely manner, of any developments which may affect the organization’s well-being.
- Represent LAWCC within the community and ensure the center is working with other appropriate organizations to develop and coordinate programming.
- Partner with the Board to lead donor cultivation, stewardship, and major gift initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Progressively responsible experience in nonprofit management.
- Requires interpersonal skills with a customer-focused mentality, with the ability to build relationships and professionally engage with all levels and types of members.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to be innovative in areas of programming, staff management, and financial acumen.
