SALARY:
$69,707 annually
SUMMARY: This is a high-level position in the Family Division whose primary function is oversight of the Custody Department. This position will work closely with various levels of management, administration, hearing officers, attorneys, agencies, and Judges. The Custody Department Manager will seek to create a department seen as a statewide leader in the areas of ADR, Custody and services to self-represented litigants.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
§ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, preferably in social work, public policy, pre-law, child development or psychology; master’s degree in a related field preferred.
§ Five years of professional experience in conflict resolution, mediation, working with children and/or families preferred.
§ Demonstrated leadership ability; previous experience supervising people or projects preferred.
§ Proficiency and/or high level of knowledge required in Microsoft Office. Ability to use virtual systems such as TEAMS. Excellent communication, interpersonal and writing skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide direction, supervision and mentorship to the Custody Department Supervisor and mediators. Recruit, select, train, and monitor the performance of mediators. Oversee the custody on-line education program and vendor; negotiate and secure contracts as necessary.
Monitor the mediation in custody cases; make improvements, communicate and build relationships and grow the program as needed.
Collect and analyze data related to the Generations program and Custody Department; research and recommend best practices and improvements as necessary.
Communicate with Judges, agencies, litigants, attorneys, and other court staff to understand how the Court’s operations in the Custody Department can best support their needs and adjust programs in accordance with the same.
Work closely with other staff and departments in the Family Division who handle custody related matters.
Draft routine letters, memos and other documents independently, as needed. Create and update reports, manuals and procedures as needed, to facilitate personnel or operational matters.
