SCCAP is seeking a strategic, values-driven Chief Program Officer to serve as a key executive leader within our multi-program, multi-county community action agency.
This role is designed for a systems thinker and culture steward who can integrate programs effectively, strengthen organizational alignment, and uphold our deep commitment to dignity, collaboration, and responsible stewardship. As part of SCCAP’s proactive long-term leadership planning, the Chief Program Officer will work closely with the CEO, CFO, and Board of Directors and progressively assume expanded leadership responsibilities over time.
We are committed to full compliance with regulatory and funding requirements — and we implement those requirements in a manner that is clear, coordinated, and as simple as possible for families, always preserving respect and dignity.
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold complexity with calm
- Integrate diverse perspectives without favoritism
- Navigate governmental funding environments with mission-first agility
- Partner effectively with governance and community stakeholders
- Lead with disciplined compassion
This is an opportunity to help steward a respected, mission-driven organization into its next era of impact.
Compensation & Benefits
This is a full-time, exempt executive position with a salary range of $80,000 - $85,000 commensurate with experience and skills.
SCCAP operates on a four-day (36-hour) work week model for salaried and non-salaried staff while maintaining full-time compensation levels. Typically 4 – 9 hour days (Mon – Thurs). This structure was implemented following research and internal evaluation, with pre- and post-assessments demonstrating sustained service levels, maintained client satisfaction, and improved staff morale.
While executive roles require flexibility based on organizational needs, SCCAP is intentionally structured to promote sustainability, recovery, and long-term effectiveness in mission-driven work.
Our comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, short-term disability and life insurance coverage, retirement contribution, paid time off and holidays. We also have a great supportive team!
